Faux

A faux finish can be loosely defined as any specialized painted or textured treatment on walls, objects and furniture.

Of course the scope of this definition is infinite, and here we list but a few of the myriad styles of faux finishing that we have mastered through the years: cheeseclothing, ragging, strie, graining, marbling, colorwash, textured finishes, layered glazes, hand-painted stripes, speckling and painted borders.
